PARTICIPANT SHOWCASE
Take a look at what our participants are up to!
In August 2022, with a passion for serving fresh coffee and a $500 loan, Mark Wood set out to start his first business. After a day with the owner of Epoch Coffee, to learn the necessary barista skills, he quickly went to work planning his own business. He conducted market research, sourced supplies, and purchased equipment. Mark is now serving fresh ground coffee four days a week to an average of 24 customers each day. Starting “The Coffee Guy” has allowed Mark to improve many different skill sets such as; customer service, time management, budgeting, branding, daily and weekly cleaning, inventory, data entry, creating posters, and using the PA system for advertising. With many more learning opportunities to come in the future, we are all eager to see how Mark continues to grow along with “The Coffee Guy”.
“I love what I’m doing and I love sharing it with people” – Mark Wood
